As we all get older in life, it seems the subject of death is inevitable. Especially nowadays, when you see folks passing away getting younger and younger. Yesterday, 44-year old Filipino music icon Francis Magalona passed away.
What Francis went through reminds me of Leo Buscaglia's book, Personhood, that challenges us to look at life as great gift and good because of what it enables us to give others - rather than what we are getting out of it.
I am still scared about the concept of death although accepting such as a reality made me tolerable and forgiving in life. Instead of giving up on people easily, I take the effort of still liking them or at least keep the communication line open. Otherwise, in my younger years, I would shut them out of my life.
It also made me fond of documentation (pictures, videos, special moments, making things memorable). I make time to converse with the people I met especially those that I'm unlikely to see again. I guess in facing death, accepting that it is a reality that will happen to all of us someday, it teaches me to touch the God in all things (and I'm still learning on how to do that).

When I went home last year, it was at that time when my niece had to go through a heart operation and was not able to recover from it. We miss you baby.
I have been an avid user of various microblogging tools and one of them is Pownce. I mainly use it to interact with fellow users, promote new content in my blog, give updates on our progress at the Busby SEO Test competition.
Although there are duplicate number of users across these sites, when time permits, I seek out some active users per site and try to establish a connection with them. This I became more conscious of since Pownce announced that it is shutting down its site.
To replace Pownce, I'm now exploring other platforms like Jaiku, Rejaw, and Yonkly as an alternative. So far, I'm beginning to get a hang of Rejaw and realized that those who love to share photos will enjoy it the most.
Of course, Twitter, Plurk, Tumblr, among others are there too.
How about you? Where do you spend most of your microblogging time online?
Last Thursday, I just remembered that it's my departed Father's birthday. If it is true that when we die, we will get to meet those who have passed away, I would surely love to catch up with him.
I haven't been that good in dealing with death. When I got a phone call from my sister that my Dad has passed away, I proceeded with the day as usual and even attended a press/media party that night before going to the funeral. I didn't cry during that time. I was more concerned in finding out who was the crying woman that my Mom told me who was in the area and went the next day to get his stuff/car from work (in a provincial area) to investigate this further.
At the day of the burial, I went to the radio station and did my talk show program. Catch up with the family after.
I guess it only sink to me that he is already gone when I realized that what I thought of him on one subject issue was wrong after all. I shed my tears one year after.
My Dad and I had our own share of family arguments and that created a gap somewhere. Although I must admit, I have once given him a heartfelt birthday letter and still haven't done that to my Mom where struggles between us are happening to date too.

I guess this post is the start of my transition for this Vox blog. I will be using to reflect on moments with loved ones that have passed away. As I don't have readers here, I guess it will also serve as a quiet place of sorts.
I find such quite a challenge although it forces me as well to be creative such as not following the usual path by most online training programs today. Instead of the usual e-learning sites or platforms, I opted to use a social network, which is Ning, to deliver this workshop.
Another hurdle that I had to deal with is my need to multi-task in deploying several e-learning programs while doing projects on the side. Of course, in the end, these are all positive problems that can be overcome one piece at a time.
