Did AdSense die? Apparently so.
You've probably heard of "The Death of ASense" and even "AdSense Resurrected." Well, someone did try to resurrect AdSense, but it's starting to look and smell like a zombie.
There were promises made, and dreams envisioned, but when it came to the actual test, everything slowly fell apart. The impressive screencaptures, the scanned checks, the quality of the ebook... all these have recently made me suspect that some members of the AdSense-loving crowd have started seeing the decline, or even the bottom of the AdSense barrel.
Perhaps that's why they seem stuck in 2006 (undoubtedly a banner year for the passive income aspirants), that their screenshots center mainly on this time period. And their reluctance to present more recent data (to show trends) casts doubt on their assertions about bringing some online marketing systems back to life.
It's all starting to make sense: the online anonymity, the slight inconsistencies, the way online comments are crafted... We should've seen the warning signs right from the start.
But a lot of us dreamed. Or even held on to quickly fading dreams.
But the gig is up. Automated web publishing systems which hope to bring in hundreds of thousands of AdSense dollars are just turning out to be zombies.
It's time to get back to writing. As in, unique content.
